The construction of the student residence in Vaasa will be completed in summer/autumn 2024. The 28 apartments of Wolffintie 24 are close to the Palosaari campus area.
Aside from providing students with energy-efficient housing, this demo site aims to guide the community towards more resource-efficient habits. This is why the Vaasa Energy Business Innovation Centre and the Student Housing Foundation in Vaasa (VOAS) will take in use a mobile app that allows the tenants to manage all matters related to their housing and from which they can get information on energy consumption, water consumption and recycling rate.
The newly built energy class A building allows to save 30% of energy compared to older residential buildings.
With the mobile app students will be guided to reduce their consumption of energy of up to 5 % and to reduce their water consumption of around 20-30 %.
